On November 17th at 7:00PM, at the Islamic Center of Naperville (2844 W Ogden Ave, Naperville, IL 60540), DuPage United will have a public assembly around key issues impacting DuPage County residents.

We are in desperate need for crisis intervention and diversion services for people with mental illness in order to stop the cycle of emergency room visits, homelessness and incarceration that crush so many of our loved ones. Working together with law enforcement, DuPage United aims to fund the construction of crisis diversion centers to serve as cost efficient, life saving alternatives to incarceration by providing support to families and first responders as they seek effectively respond to daily crisis situations.

We made a commitment last February with over 800 people to reject the rampant fear mongering of Muslims that plagues our news cycle. We chose to build better relationships, understanding and to listen to each other on issues we could take on together as a community. We have hosted open mosques, held community listening sessions and built relationships with local refugees in our member institutions. DuPage United will continue the work we started highlighting the formation of a rapid response team for crisis situations and hear directly from refugee leaders on issues impacting their families.
